Our History
"Established in 1964 as H & T Dickinson, the company became Dickinsons Decorators in the 1980s following the retirement of one of the brothers, and continues as to the present day with the second generation of the family. Over the last half a century the company has built a reputation within the construction industry for quality and perfection. Delivering excellent training for its workforce from supervisors to apprentices to achieve a 'Dickinsons' standard. Completion of tight deadlines is within our ethos and creating a 'can do' attitude is within our mission statement.
Accreditations
IPAF Trained
We provide initial training and refresher courses free of charge for our painters to enable them to carry out their work safely when working at height where mechanical aids are required.
Our workforce is trained by IPAF accredited providers in the use of cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and tracked spiders. Safety-critical health assessments are carried out with the MEWP operators.
PASMA Trained
Mobile tower scaffolding including the advanced guard rail system is at times required to carry out internal and external works. Our painters attend an approved PASMA training course and the associated refresher courses. We undertake the additional PASMA staircase course.
CHAS Compliant
We demonstrated compliance with the CHAS standards in line with the Common Assessment Standard (CAS) and UK H & S Legislation and have been awarded accreditation to the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015.
Health and Safety, Financial, Identity, Corporate and Professional Standing, Environmental, Quality, Equality, Corporate Social Responsibility, Information Security, BIM.
Asbestos Awareness Trained
The half-day course is carried out on an annual basis to continue raising awareness of the types of asbestos and the locations where it may still be found.
First Aid Trained
A number of our workforce hold valid first aid certificates, providing essential knowledge in what to do in the event of an accident/incident.
Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
All our site supervisors undergo the 2-day training course and the 1-day refresher when due.
CITB Health and Safety Awareness
This course is taken by all painters, both directly employed and subcontractors.
CSCS Cards
All our Painters and Decorators hold valid CSCS cards
